Auditstage raises €750.000 from Smartfin
to revolutionize the audit industry with AI
May 27th 2025
BRUSSELS – Belgian AuditTech start-up Auditstage has secured €750,000 in pre-seed funding from leading venture capital firm Smartfin, co-founded by fintech entrepreneur and investor Jürgen Ingels. The funding will be used to accelerate platform development and expand the founding team ahead of a public product launch planned for fall 2025.

Natalia Khamraeva (Founder Auditstage)
Founded in 2024 by certified auditor Natalia Khamraeva, Auditstage is on a mission to bring intelligence, transparency and speed to the traditional financial audit. With over a decade of experience at Big4 audit firms, the founder saw firsthand how fragmented tools and manual workflows make audits inefficient and error-prone. After having spent nearly 15 years in the profession listening to frustrations from clients and colleagues, Auditstage is her answer: an all-in-one, AI-powered platform that acts as the digital command center for external audits.
“Auditors today rely on a patchwork of tools and communication channels to get the job done,” says Natalia Khamraeva. “Auditstage streamlines that process by integrating everything into one secure, collaborative environment that is AI native and that uses intelligent automation for tasks nobody likes.”
The company’s proprietary AI agents are aimed to handle the repetitive and time-consuming tasks that slow down audit cycles, while helping auditors and accounting teams to focus on what matters most – highest quality financial reporting that gives a true and fair view of the economic reality behind. Though the product is still in pilot phase, a select group of Belgian audit firms are already testing the platform ahead of its official launch later this year.
While still a one-woman company, Auditstage has already attracted serious attention from industry veterans. The funding marks a rare early-stage commitment from Smartfin to a solo female founder, something still uncommon in the European tech scene.
“We’re seeing the wave of automation that first transformed accounting now ripple into the audit world, a high-stakes industry with real pain points. With Natalia’s deep audit expertise and bold product vision, we see tremendous potential for disruption in the AuditTech space.” says Jürgen Ingels, Founding Partner at Smartfin.
“We are extremely proud to become part of the Smartfin family and to welcome Jürgen to our board of directors. Together with Smartfin we’re building more than a product, we’re setting a new standard for how external audits should work: smart, connected and focused on quality.”
Auditstage plans to use the funding to continue development of its core platform, grow its founding team, and prepare for a wider commercial rollout in 2026. Its long-term ambition? To become the global go-to audit solution in a market still heavily dependent on disconnected legacy systems.
